Sound, Lighting, Staging, and beyond...

SSS Productions worked closely with MSI on the 2007 Subaru US FreeSki Tour. SSS Productions provided sound reinforcement for the event base (always high on the mountain, in the middle of winter) as well as the sound for award ceremonies and other functions.  At the wrap up events at each stop on the tour, customized lighting was provided by SSS Productions which incorporated some of the key sponsors logos.
SSS Productions was instrumental in providing A/V and logistical support for Fuel TV at each stop on the Mountain Dew Actions Sports Tour.  The tour consisted of five stops all around the country over a span of 5 months.
Vail Snow Daze is an annual 6 day event that consists of several activities, many of which include music and lighting.  SSS Productions was happy to be a part of supplying Vail Snow Daze 2007 and 2008 with sound and lighting reinforcement for some of the musical events with DJ's and Live bands. We also helped with Spring Back to Vail 2008 festivities, Vail Oktoberfest 2008, and Vail's Mardi-Gras 2009.
SSS Productions provided its mobile stage for the Soul Rebel Festival.  The contracted sound company was very pleased and impressed with how quickly and efficiently the stage was constructed.  If an event contracts another production company for their services, SSS Productions is more than happy to accommodate by providing any of the remaining services and will work hard with other companies to make your event a success.
We are continually consulting churches, live music venues, bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, on how to "fix" their sound problems.  Sometimes the problem is that the contracted sound company doesn't show up!  That's what happened at the 2007 Evergreen Chili Cookoff.  SSS Productions was called in the morning of the event, and within 20 minutes we were loading a truck and on our way to the rescue.  We were contracted to do sound in 2008, and now again in 2009.
Highline Sports & Entertainment produces several exciting events in the mountians, and on more than one occasion, SSS Productions has provided them with sound/lighting services

"Thanks again for everything, it was a pleasure to work with you both.  I look forward to working together on future projects!" -Bryan Rooney- Event Director

SSS Productions works on events large and small.  We have helped install sound systems into churches on very tight bugets. In addition to these events, in 2007, SSS Productions also provided staging and sound for 3 American Diabetes Association charity events, sound for the Eagle County Air Show, sound for a 3 day womens Baptist retreat, and many other events.

SSS Productions has an ongoing working relationship with Victory Church, one of the larger sanctuaries (2000+ capacity) in the Denver area.  They regularly depend on SSS Productions to run their main sanctuary sound for services, and help with large special events and concerts.

SSS Productions has equipment that greatly surpasses the quality of your average DJ's equipment.  So we have started doing High School events/dances.  We have helped with large special assemblies for Jefferson HS, and in 2008, we put on the Gilpin HS prom.
"Skinny [SSS Productions] was fantastic!  Everyone had a blast and said that it was twice as good as last year.  Defentaly [sic] plan on hearing from us again" - Brandi Siegrist (Event Organizer)

SSS Productions staff has a long working history with Red Bull.  SSS Productions has provided both sound and lighting for special events that Red Bull has presented all around Colorado, including the Denver Grand Prix post-party, sponsored tailgate parties, and several DJ events around Denver.

SSS Productions also privided sound reinforcement for the 2008 Red Bull Soapbox event at Red Rocks- which turned out to be the largest event in Red Rocks history- in terms of attendance.  Some reported over 30,000 in attendance, with another several thousand turned away for lack of space.

When Red Bull in Colorado needs sound or lighting, they know who to call.

SSS Productions has a charitable heart.  We have donated our equipment and time in the past for Habitat for Humanity of metro Denver, helping them to achieve quality sound at their functions.
SSS Productions was happy to work to provide the staging for the 2007 KBCO Kinetics parade and event.  We were also a part of the 2008 Rocky Mountain Music Festival, and will be returning for 2009.  Also, the town of Firestone, CO trusts SSS Productions to provide the staging for their annual 4th of July festival.
SSS Productions provided a full package- Stage, Sound, and Lighting for Paco's Last Stand in 2007.  This is an annual event that incorporates music, food, drink, motorcycles, and a night of camping.

SSS Productions provided extensive lighting effects for this show.  This is a review by the most popular music/events newspaper.

Savage Henry's Wish We Were Floyd
Friday, April 18, 2008
Gothic Theatre
Better Than:
Sparking a fatty and synching up Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz.

Dead on and flawless. That’s about the most fitting description I can come up with for Wish We Were Floyd, Savage Henry’s ambitious production this past Friday night at the Gothic.

Tribute shows, by nature, come with a set of unspoken expections: Folks who go to these types of gigs – unless, of course, we’re speaking of acts summoning the Grateful Dead, an outfit known for its improv – don’t want to hear any sort of deviation. None. Unlike, say, cover bands, who are given leeway to color outside the lines, tribute fans aren’t looking for the band to make the songs their own. This music is the soundtrack of their life. They know every line of every song – even the subtle nuances – and expect to hear the tunes played exactly as they were recorded.

To that end, the four members of Savage Henry (frontman Damon Guerrasio, bassist John Jeffers and guitarists Stu Miller and Glen Esparza) and their guests (drummer Jay Ruybal, keyboardist and vocalist Dave Wruck, vocalist Kate Shoup and keyboardist/saxman Kurt Moorehead) obliged. From the perfectly placed signature samples and Ruybal’s rolls on the rotos at the beginning of “Time,” to Guerrarsio’s exceptional vocals, augmented by Shoup’s divalicious wailing, and Miller and Esparza’s impressive note-for-note leads, Wish We Were Floyd offered a spot-on replication of the brightest spots in the Floyd catalog – twenty-five songs pulled from seven albums, to be exact.

Even so, that still wasn’t quite enough for everybody. A semi-intoxicated dude, clearly a card-carrying Floyd completest, was overheard grumbling about how predictable the set list was and bemoaning the fact that the band didn’t opt to include “Fearless” from Meddle. A glaring omission, as far as he was concerned -- even though no one else seemed to notice its absence.

What's more, that was about the only thing overlooked. Otherwise, the group clearly paid as much attention to detail visually as it had sonically. Taking the stage in black jumpsuits outfitted with the crossed hammer patches on the breast pocket, Guerrasio and company were flanked by giant cardboard cutouts of clocks and stood in front of a large circular screen onto which various Floydian images were projected throughout the set. Granted, there weren’t any giant inflatable pigs hovering high above the Gothic, but the outfit did an absolutely fine job with what they had.

Overall, I’d have to say, next to Polytoxic’s annual Thanksgiving eve Last Waltz revival, this is probably the best and most ambitious tribute show in town.

-- Dave Herrera

Personal Bias: I’m a huge Floyd fan. There was very little chance that I wouldn’t dig this show.

Random Detail: This was the sixth production of Wish We Were Floyd. The first one took place at Red Rocks on Tuesday, July 25, 2006. To pull this show off, it takes eight musicians, a four-man tech crew, a lighting tech and a dedicated sound man – oh, yeah, and eighty hours of rehearsals.

By the Way: Word has it the next show probably won’t happen until this fall and will probably sell out quickly. This gig drew nearly 700 people.
